Elephant killed after coming into village in South Africa

An elephant that escaped from South Africa’s Kruger Nationwide Park (KNP) on Saturday was killed after being chased by locals from a neighboring group.

Video footage confirmed residents of Matsulu, a city within the northern province of Mpumalanga, working in direction of the elephant, shouting and throwing objects at it.

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Company (MPTA) stated that the elephant needed to be euthanized after folks chased him, because the scenario grew to become tough to manage. Police have been referred to as in to handle the gang.

After the world was cleared of individuals, the elephant was euthanized. The MPTA urged the group to keep away from any wildlife coming into Matsulu and to chorus from chasing animals.
